• Departments

Departments represent the primary hubs of research. The Alma Mater is structured into 31 departments covering all areas of knowledge: from the Medical and Scientific fields to the Social, Technological, and Humanistic realms.

• Interdepartmental Centers

Within the Interdepartmental Centers of the Alma Mater, adopting an innovative and interdisciplinary approach, laboratories and infrastructures integrate with research groups from various departments. These collaborations aim to address historical and emerging social challenges.

•  Interdepartmental Industrial Research Centers 

The Interdepartmental Industrial Research Centers (CIRI), integrated into the High Technology Network of Emilia-Romagna and regional Clust-ERs, enhance research-industry relationships on priority topics outlined in the regional Smart Specialization Strategy.

Research laboratories are the venues where research takes place, and innovation comes to life: they are located in both departmental and interdepartmental facilities.
