Pre-school and primary school teaching
The single cycle degree in Science of Primary Teacher Education is the qualification required to teach in pre-school and primary schools.
Secondary school teaching
In order to be able to teach, you must have a valid qualification for access to the competition classes provided for by the regulations in force.
The system of initial training and tenure-track access for teachers for middle and high schools is divided into:
- a university and academic Qualifying initial training pathways (in Italian);
- a national open competition, held on a regional or inter-regional basis;
- an in-service probationary period of one year with a final test and evaluation.
Obtain specialisation as a support teacher
To become a support teacher, a specific specialisation must be obtained through a special restricted access training course. It allows students to acquire teaching skills to foster the inclusion of pupils with disabilities in pre-school, primary, middle, and high schools.
Separate courses are planned for each school level.
