The administration of the University of Bologna is structured on several levels: the general administration and the offices located in the various facilities, starting with our 31 Departments. The general administration coordinates the management and strategic functions of the university, including resource planning, personnel management and organisation of administrative activities, regulatory compliance and procedural efficiency, in line with the university's strategic objectives.

The offices in the Departments, Campuses and Research Centres have a direct operational function, providing support to academic and administrative activities. These offices manage the University's day-to-day procedures, liaising with the general administration to meet specific needs.

  The University has 31 Departments, where teaching and research activities cover all areas of knowledge: Medical, Scientific, Social, Technological and Humanities.

• Interdepartmental Centres
  In the Interdepartmental Centres, research and teaching activities take place in an innovative and cross-sectoral perspective. They bring together laboratories, facilities and research groups from different departments, working to address historical and emerging challenges in society.

• Interdepartmental Centres for Industrial Research
  The Interdepartmental Centres for Industrial Research (CIRI), integrated in the Emilia-Romagna High Technology Network and in the regional Clust-ERs, enhance research in relation to the industry on the main priorities of the regional Intelligent Specialisation Strategy.
• University Language Centre - CLA
  The CLA promotes language teaching and learning by offering face-to-face, online and self-study courses.
• Centre for Teaching and Learning – CTL
  The Centre for Teaching and Learning promotes innovative activities by integrating traditional skills with new teaching methodologies and coordinates training courses for pre-school, primary and secondary school teaching, offering qualifications and lifelong learning courses.

The SBA is the University structure in charge of coordinating the libraries, book collections and bibliographic and documentation services.
