Laurea Magistrale (Second cycle degree/Two year Master - 120 ECTS) in Media, Public and Corporate Communication

The aim of the second cycle degree/two year master in Journalism, Public and Corporate Communication is to prepare professionals able to produce and disseminate information and communication contents across the multiple arenas characterizing contemporary media ecosystems.The skills gained through this master's degree program will increase students' ability to understand the specificity of different social, political and economic landscapes, and to develop specific communication strategies accordingly. In this sense, students will learn how to manage communication-related activities both for the public and in the private sectors: from public organisations to corporate actors, from legacy to digital media companies.This master's degree programme will enhance students' understanding of the multiple theoretical and methodological approaches characterizing the study of communication and marketing, as well as of publishing and information systems. Such knowledge will be grounded on different scientific fields, ranging from social science, to political, economic and legal sciences.The programme will also enhance students' attitude toward critical thinking, by helping them to master highly diverse methodological skills, as well as a multidisciplinary vision of information and communication ecosystems. In this way students will become able to analyse different situations, identifying and designing tailored media content and flexible communication plans. The first year is in first place dedicated to the study of communication theories and their multiple application in different contexts. Students are also introduced to different methods for empirical research on media and communication. Finally, a general understanding of the legal context of communication is provided. On the top of this, a seminar/workshop aimed at developing specific skills connected to media/communication professions is offered.During the second year, students have a greater flexibility with regard to the choice of modules and courses to take. Courses can be mainly chosen from a rich list of related subjects. Students are also offered career-oriented learning activities and they are offered a course of English for communicative purposes. More specifically, the second year includes: a) learning activities aimed at mastering theoretical and methodological skills useful to develop a nuanced understanding of professional and research activities connected to communication and information. The opportunity to participate into international exchange programmes represent a further chance to improve such skills. b) other learning activities specifically aimed at developing practical skills, also thanks to agreements with companies and organizations.All students are encouraged to undertake curricular internships related to their final examination. In this sense, agreements with companies and organisations in Italy and abroad have already been established.
