Nicola De Luigi teaches Sociology at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Bologna. He served as Chair of the Joint Committee of Faculty-Students and as Departmental Delegate for Teaching within the same Department. From November 2022 to November 2025, he was the Rector’s Delegate for International Education and new degree programmes; since 1 November 2025, he has been Vice Rector for Teaching. His research focuses on youth studies, the interaction between labour and social policies, and local welfare. In recent years, he has investigated the living conditions of university students, with particular attention to housing policies and student support measures. He has also worked on early childhood services, work-life balance policies, and attitudes towards gender norms. He is a member of the PhD Board in Political and Social Sciences at the University of Bologna.
