Short Bio

Lecturer at Bologna University since 2021 and at Vicenza Conservatory since 2019, previously lecturer at Milan Statale University (2010-2012). She has been researching on the fields of Hindi language and literature and of ethnomusicology.

Her research interests are specifically directed towards Hindustani female vocal music and its use of poetry, gender studies and music anthropology of India. Her work currently focuses on the theme of covert resistance by marginalised groups of hereditary artists in the 20th century, social activism through music and poetry, and decolonisation of the studies on the art music of north India.   

She has contributed to international publications with papers and thematic chapters and has been sharing her research at national and international conferences, has collaborated with European institutions such as the Durham University (UK) and the Institute for Comparative Music Studies of the Cini Foundation in Venice.
