Programme aims

Graduates from the degree programme for Labour and Company Relations Consultants have a thorough knowledge of all points interconnected with the labour Law area, and are able to apply the respective regulations.
They also possess expertise in history and philosophy, economics, sociology and the branches of private, constitutional and civil procedure Law.
The curriculum divides into two learning areas and the teaching plan entails activating purely labour Law course units (Market and Labour Relations Law, Safety at Work Law, Social Security Law, Sociology of Economic Processes and Labour Dynamics, Trade Union and Company Relations Law), as well as units with a labour Law connection, explicit or otherwise (European and International Labour Law, Labour Tax Law, General and Labour Criminal Law, Commercial Law). Though seen as an introductory background, the first-year activities have a specific vocational purpose (thus, Roman Law is to serve as an introduction to fundamental notions of Law).
This programme of activities is supplemented by course units designed to take the basic notions to a deeper level and to provide much-needed skills in specific areas, completing the vocational training. To ensure the requisite connection between academic background and professional training, some structured links with the professional and manufacturing world have been forged: training internships are scheduled inside public and private host organizations with a view to giving students the tools of the trade that the working world calls for. A large part of the process of deepening and working through the knowledge input is left to the student's own private study, going over the information acquired until it is mastered.
The students' ability to apply what they have learned is tested by oral and written exams, as well as assessment of personal special papers and group discussion of issues giving students a chance to display their command of the tools and methods taught during the programme.

Access to further study

It gives access to second cycle studies (laurea specialistica/magistrale) and master universitario di primo livello. Masters are post-graduate courses in advanced scientific and high permanent or recurrent training in the reference field.
In particular, the School of Law establishes :
- a Master 's degree in " Safety and prevention in the workplace". It offers a multi-disciplinary specialist knowledge regarding the legal and institutional profiles, economic, managerial and organizational aspects related to the management of safety in the workplace. It further allows students to acquire the necessary tools to perform in different public or private organizations or activities related to the prevention of risks from work.
- a Master's degree in "Labor Law". It intends to train experts in the management of labor relations and industrial relations in the private and public sectors, with a strong propensity to govern the local, national and transnational legal and economic dimension.

Admission requirements

Admission to the degree programme is subject to possession of a five-year secondary school diploma or suitable equivalent qualification obtained abroad, or a four-year secondary school diploma and diploma for the relative supplementary year; where this is no longer active, students admitted will be assigned additional learning requirements. Italian language skills, good general knowledge and general logical-mathematical skills.
Applicants shall also have an appropriate training.
The Degree Programme for Labour and Company Relations Consultants requires the following knowledge and skills:
- good general knowledge;
- logical and reasoning skills;
- ability to understand and interpret texts and documents (in Italian);
- familiarity with the basic notions of Law.
Possession of this knowledge is ascertained by a self-assessment test that all newly-registering students must sit. The form of the self-assessment test will be decided by the School Board, acting on a proposal from the Degree Programme Board, and will be published on the University Portal.
If a newly-registering student fails the knowledge test, he/she will be set certain Additional Learning Requirements (known as OFAs - Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi in Italian language) to be fulfilled within the first year of studies.
Anyone who has not passed the OFA test or passed all the above exams within the prescribed deadline will have to re-enrol for the first year as a repeating student.
Exemption from the knowledge test and OFA assignments applies to students who :
- registered in a previous academic year at another Italian or foreign university (including switches of degree programme),
- already possess a university degree or diploma,
- claim to exercise the previous system option,
− enrol following withdrawal/loss of student status having passed at least one of the following course units: Private Law, or Constitutional Law or Institutions of Roman Law.
Any other reasons for exemption from the knowledge test must be vetted by the Degree Programme Board.
