Learning outcomes

At the end of the integrated course "Biomedical research: introduction and philosophical issues" students are able to


- Know in general terms the characteristics of biomedical research and the career of the researcher


- Know the outlines of the debate in the philosophy of medicine, particularly with regard to the concepts of disease, health and quality of life, evidence, objectivity, pluralism


- Recognise and critically evaluate the assumptions and values underlying scientific practice


- Reflect critically on biomedical research within the social and economic context
