Short Bio

I am a Senior Researcher, with habilitation for Full Professor in Philosophy of Language, and as Associate Professor in Philosophy of Science. I was hired by the University of Milano-Bicocca, Psychology Department in 2006. Currently I am on leave from Bicocca until 2025.

In my research work I apply the tools and methods of conceptual analysis to problems arising in the life sciences. My research areas are the philosophy of medicine, psychiatry and psychology. I am currently working on the concepts of health, wellness and quality of life, issues in the philosophy of diagnostic imaging, and on the ethics and communication of vaccination campaigns.

In the past I published on the philosophy of psychology, specifically on concepts and on linguistic relativity.

I received my BA from the University of Bologna in 1997 and a PhD in Philosophy of Language and Mind from UNIPO (Italy) in 2003. I held teaching appointments in Modena, Parma, and Bologna. I also studied in London (Birkbeck College), and in Aberdeen (Northern Institute of Philosophy).

I am associate editor of the European Journal of Analytic Philosophy.
