Learning outcomes
At the end of the module the student is able to apply the knowledge to recognize the early symptoms of alteration of pelvic statics and perineal damage, in obstetric assistance to labor and delivery, knows and applies the preventive modalities to perineal damage. In post-partum and puerperium, it activates in women protective and rehabilitative behaviors of perineal muscle tone. It is able to plan health education interventions throughout the entire biological cycle of women.
Course contents
Anatomy of the support and suspension system, with particular regard to the pelvic floor. Physiology of the muscular and aponeurotic structures of the pelvic floor, compared to the containment of the viscera contained in the three compartments of the pelvis: anterior, central, posterior. Perineal dysfunctions: urinary incontinence, faecal, chronic pelvic pain syndrome, prolapse, sexual dysfunction. diagnostic procedure in the diagnosis of urinary incontinence, differential diagnosis between stress and urgency incontinence. Taking charge of the woman for a pathway of perineal rehabilitation, with a particular focus on perineal gymnastics, with a view to Educazioen Terapeutica. Definition and methodology of the E.T.
The course includes 12 hours of practical-experiential laboratory, during which the techniques of perineal gymnastics are studied in depth

Assessment methods
the test consists of an exercise in scientific literature. The students after having chosen an article from the literature will apply the methodology of the C.A.T. (critical appraisal topic) for an analysis of the validity of the study contained in it.
