Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student has expertise relating to:
fundamental principles of the etiology and pathogenesis, cellular
and tissue changes leading to reversible and irreversible damage,
the molecular and cellular bases of acute, chronic and repair
inflammatory response, the specific mechanisms of the adaptive
immunity, its defensive aspects and possible pathological
consequences; the etiopathogenesis of neoplastic transformation,
progression to malignancy and metastasis.

Assessment methods
Written tests, administered in itinere and consisting of both multiple choice and open questions, and oral exams will evaluate the achievement of learning objectives:
- knowledge of fundamental principles of the etiology and pathogenesis
- knowledge of molecular and cellular bases of acute, chronic and repair inflammatory response,
- knowledge of mechanisms of innate and adaptive immunity
- knowledge of the etiopathogenesis of neoplastic transformation, progression to malignancy and metastasis.
In itinere tests and/or oral exam will contribute to the final mark of the Integrated Course 39275 PATOLOGIA GENERALE, GENETICA MEDICA E ONCOLOGIA MEDICA, with proportion to the number o credits assigned to General Pathology
