89332 - Applied Mathematics and Statistics

Academic Year 2023/2024

  • Docente: Rita Fioresi
  • Credits: 10
  • SSD: MAT/03
  • Language: Italian
  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Biotechnology (cod. 5976)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student will have the basic knowledge of differential and integral calculus for functions of one real variable and of the first elements of calculus for functions of several variables as well as methods for solving differential equations. In particular, the student is able to: - represent data or functions in graphic form; - perform applications of differential and integral calculus for functions of one or more real variables. The student also knows the rudiments of computer programming and is therefore able to create simple programs for the analysis of numerical data. At the end of the course the student knows elementary statistics and is able to calculate the median mean mode of statistical variables as well as to know some fundamental distributions (eg Gaussian).
