Learning outcomes

Learning Outcomes: Al the end of the seminars the student is able to identify and evaluate the main topics of current research in the tourism field, and to deepen the analysis through brief essays.

Course contents

In 2023/24 a series of Seminars, of variable length, will be organized in the first semester (between July and December 2023). Students should attend AT LEAST 15 hours of seminars. Attendance will be checked through identification and signature. Some of the seminars might be offered in online mode.

Please, be aware that Workshops 1, 2 and 3 are organized within an event linked to a European project. Although the workshops take place before the official start of the semester, its attendance is recognised for the seminars series.

Watch out: this seminar is divided in two parts and students must attend both of them, for a total of 6 hours.

Teaching methods

Seminars given by invited speakers, with discussion.

Assessment methods

To gain the 3 ECTS, students must:

  • attend AT LEAST 15 hours of seminars out of the offered programme.
  • write a short essay (between 3,000 and 5,000 words long) on one of the topics covered in the seminars. Students have to independently find sources and reference material to prepare the essay.
  • Upload the essay on the seminars page in virtuale.unibo.it BEFORE February 1, 2024, 09.00h.
  • Book the corresponding exam (Seminars, February 1, 2024, 09.00h) on Almaesami following the standard procedures normally set for the exams.


Evaluation will be on a PASS / FAIL basis.
