Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will know the basic principles about the epidemiology of infectious diseases, their diffusion and strategies for primary and secondary prevention. Moreover the student will know the most important problems about lifestyles characterized by social marginality and negligence of basic health principles.

Course contents

  1. Epidemiology and prevention of infectious diseases.
  2. Respiratory tract infections: flu, alveolar and interstitial pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, COVID-19
  3. Gastro-intestinal infections: cholera, minor salmonellosis
  4. Viral hepatitis
  5. Skin and soft tissue infections
  6. Infectious osteomyelitis, infectious arthritis
  7. Infectious endocarditis
  8. Viral and bacterial meningitis
  9. Arthropod-borne infections: Lyme disease
  10. Sepsis
  11. HIV infection and AID
