Learning outcomes

The student - knows the elements (lexico-grammatical) of the Italian sign language, with hints at regional varieties - is able to use them in moderately complex communicative situations.

Course contents

Aspects of LIS linguistics, hints of culture of the deaf and history of institutions for the deaf will be explored. Furthermore, aspects of interpretation and translation from and into Sign Language, intramorphism and emotional aspects of interpretation will be developed.

In the practical part, an A1 level of language acquisition will be proposed, the presentation of oneself, the family, one's home, hobbies and daily occupations, relations with the outside world.
