Course contents

have no doubts in conducting an optimal objective examination
and in conducting a good anamnesis (knowing how to manage the medical record)
have skills in the orthotic-digital field (silicones)
have ortho-plant skills. e.g.: know how to make an impression with a plaster cast.
impression with plaster cast, phenolic foam and plaster casting. Know how to
stylise (e.g. soft tissue expansion), know how to thermoform and make a
footbed both with the kit and by assembling the various materials, know how to make
extrinsic modifications for varus or valgus avampis, morton extension, morton
reverse, kinetic wedge according to Dananberg, cutting for the first
beam and for the first head, targeted discharges and having skills at the grindstone (e.g. for
finishing the orthosis)
knowing how to make a retrocapital olive, retrocapital bar, internal vault,
medial hell skive, post extrinsic varus/valgus to the hindfoot and forefoot,
have skills in the selection and use of materials for the core (shell) of the
footbed (resin, polypropylene, rigid eva), for linings and inserts
skills in diabetology (diabetic foot: ABI+monofilament)
identify diabetic patients at risk of ulceration (risk classes)
