Learning outcomes

At the end of course student is able to arrange suitable nutritional plans for nephrologic, endocrine/metabolic diseases and neurologic.

 

Planning and carrying out actions of dietetic/nutritional support in different diseases.

Course contents

Pediatric obesity. Growth curves (Cacciari and Cerebral palsy)

Cardiovascular disease diet therapy and arterial hypertension. Guideline Analysis.

Diet in nephrology ( acute/chronic renal insufficiency, dyalisis, transplant). suitable nutritional plans planning.

Focusing the importance of proper diet in the treatment of endocrine/metabolic diseases.

Clinical cases presentation and discussion—planning of therapeutic programs taking into consideration guideline and scientific knowledge.

Bibliographical research on Pubmed, reading and discussion of scientific publications.

Analysis and management of clinical cases- Nutrition care Process (nutrition assessment- nutrition diagnosis- nutrition intervention- nutrition monitoring and evaluation)

Assessment methods

The end-of-course examination is designed to assess the achievement of the following educational objectives:

Identification of dietetic/nutritional support needs. Treatment from the educational, preventive and clinical point of view in general and specialist medicine and surgery. Planning and carrying out actions of dietetic/nutritional support in different diseases

Written exam to investigate acquired knowledge and skills. Clinical case and diet elaboration.
