32034 - Laboratory (2) (2nd cycle) (G.B)

Academic Year 2022/2023

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Semiotics (cod. 8886)

Learning outcomes

Space semiotics Lab: environment - landscape - city.

At the end of the laboratory, the student will be able to conduct a semiotic analysis of space in a collaborative and dialoguing environment.

Course contents

The topic of this edition of the Space Semiotics Lab (SSL) will be on the notion of landscape, and especially on the semiotic conceptualisations of this notion. More precisely, the focus will be on the semiotic re-negotiations of the border between city and countryside (urban space vs. rural space; built/inhabited environment vs. natural environment, etc.)

The participants will work, under the guidance of the teacher, on a collective research on this topic (case studies will be identified during the first week of lessons).
