Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will: • understand the social, environmental and individual factors that determine participation in sport and physical activity, • understand the theoretical bases of interventions aimed at promoting sport and physical activity participation in different populations, • be able to critically analyse practical examples of such interventions, including their design, implementation and evaluation.

Course contents

- The health and physical activity status of different population groups.



-Individual differences, economic and sociocultural influences on leisure time behaviour.


- Strategies for promoting participation in sport and exercise among the population


- Changing physical activity behaviour


- Sport and Exercise campaigns and the marketing of physical activity to different population groups



- The latest trends in the field
