Learning outcomes

Knowledge and comprehension skills related to the diagnosis and treatment of acquired (traumatic, infectious or from oncologic resection) and special facial malformations (vascular malformations of the face and maxillofacial surgical treatment of sleep apnea), with particular reference to surgical strategies and the use of the most modern methods of treatment planning and execution. Students will also be able to further develop learning and communication skills on the specific topic.

Assessment methods

The examination at the end of this elective course is designed to assess the student's achievement of the learning objectives outlined in the lectures according to the program of this particular course. The student will be evaluated by an oral examination.

The student demonstrating a thorough preparation on the topics covered in the course, the ability to make independent choices of critical analysis and linking, full command of the specific terminology, and skill in argumentation and self-reflection will be judged to pass the examination.
