Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, the student:
- masters some key concepts such as that of disturbance, disturbance or relational disorder in developmental, adolescent and adult age;
- understands the communicative meaning of the psychopathological symptom;
- knows the theories and techniques of group management;
- is able to foresee and manage possible aggressive, addictive, self-injurious behaviors, from an educational design perspective; - observes certain dynamics of distress, in order to detect them early and report them in integrated work with other professionals;
- possesses communication skills such as to enable him/her to deal with and manage the psychological problems of users by exploiting the potential of the interview in the helping relationship;
- is able to lead relationship dynamics by conducting interviews and group work.

Course contents

For the future Educator, it appears to be as important as ever:
- Know the scope of intervention and content of Clinical Psychology.
- To become familiar with some key concepts pertaining to psychophysical well-being and psychopathology.
- To know psychopathology in order to share with other professionals a common language and keys to reading and understanding mental distress.
- To improve one's ability to read the events of subjective history, to understand the psychological reality of the other, based on personal, psychological, contextual, and experience characteristics.

Teaching methods

Besides the lectures, some exercises will be carried out (paper-pencil, role-playing, comments to video movies...) in order to illustrate certain aspects of Clinical Psychology.

Assessment methods

At the end of the lessons, the student have to take an exam (the assessments will be with scale 30).

The exam will be a writing with:

3 open questions (to be answered in a synthetic way but accurate, remaining within the limits of a facade of A4 size paper).

Each question will be based on one of the textbooks listed in the References.

All three answers must be positive (minimum score 6/10) to pass the test.
