Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the elective course, students will be able to:
- Understand the diagnostic and treatment issues inherent to the various branches of maxillofacial pathology and master the methods of applying new technologies to these pathologies.
- Identify and propose the application of the most appropriate diagnostic tool and treatment method to a given pathology.
- Critically analyze functional issues related to neoplastic, malformative and trauma pathology of the face.
- Communicate with the medical community the principles of diagnosis and treatment proposed for the pathologies addressed in the course.

Assessment methods

The examination at the end of this elective course is designed to assess the student's achievement of the learning objectives established in the lectures according to the program of this particular course. The student will be evaluated on the basis of an oral examination and the presentation of a clinical case.

A student who demonstrates a thorough preparation on the topics covered in the course, the ability to make independent choices of critical analysis and connection, full command of the specific terminology, and skill in argumentation and self-reflection will be judged to pass the examination.
