Learning outcomes

The course aims at providing knowledge about:

1. the capacity to analyze and understand the organization of the State; the sources of law; the Constitutional jurisdiction;

2. the capacity to understand the main characteristics of the European Union and the most important international organizations;

3. the capacity to deal with the principles of the constitutional system;

4. the capacity to understand the meaning of the institutional changes and their consequences.

Course contents

The course takes place during a semester and it is divided into two parts.

It will focus on the following topics:

The Italian legal systems and the constitutional rights;

The State;

The sources of law;

The international organizations and European Union;

The political powers;

The Parliament;

The President of the Republic;

The Government;

Rights and freedoms;

The regional and local political bodies;

The Public Administrations;

The Judicial system;

The Constitutional court.
