Recognize the psychological and social aspects of malignnt diseases. Appreciate the emotional impact of cancer on patients and their families. Recognize the importance of the doctor-patient relationship and how it affects the treatment of a disease.

- The role of clinical psychology in the management and clinical care of cancer patients and families;

- The psycho-social impact of cancer on patients, relatives and oncology staff;

- The importance of early screening, diagnosis and treatment of psychological distress in cancer patients;

- Approaches to patient-centered communication in cancer care.

Metodi didattici

The Clinical Psychology of Cancer Care course consist of 1 CFU of 8 hours of lectures supported by slides, video excerpts and small-groups, in-class activities.

Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento

Multiple choice questions (n0. 5) or open ended questions (no.3) will be used to assess students’ knowledge, in a 15-minute written or oral test.
