  • Campus: Ravenna
  • Corso: Laurea in Building Construction Engineering (cod. 5897)

Conoscenze e abilità da conseguire

The course aims to provide the theoretical knowledge and operational tools for the representation of architectural elements, both with traditional techniques and with CAD techniques. The aim is to achieve graphic maturity in the use of the language of drawing and technical representation, educating the student in the use of the appropriate graphic tools.

Contenuti

The course is organized through theoretical lessons and practical exercises, these last dealing with the topics discussed within the lessons. This setting of the course has the goal to provide the assimilation of the contents relating to the representation of architectural elements as a dual and closely interconnected theoretical and practical experience.

Main topics of the course are:

  • drawing materials, tools and graphic techniques
  • technical drawing standards and conventions
  • ·orthogonal projections
  • architectural survey through direct measurement techniques. Methods, techniques and examples
  • dimensioning systems
  • parallel projections: axonometry
  • perspective projections
  • shadow projections
  • the representation of specific architectural elements: staircases, windows/doors, roof coverings, vaulted systems, etc.
  • construction detail representations
  • CAD fundamentals for design and survey

Metodi didattici

The course is organized in theoretical lessons combined with a series of practical exercises on specific topics provided during the lessons.

Drawing exercises are the main and foundamental part of the course, since the experience of drawing represents a crucial moment of active learning, that cannot be replaced by a purely theoretical approach.

The graphic exercises are divided into "ex-tempore tests", which will completed using manual drawing techniques according to the calendar that will be communicated at the beginning of the course, and the "CAD exercises", which will consist in CAD technical drawings.

Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento

The exam is divided into a written test - with exercises concerning the topics covered in the lessons - and an oral test, in which questions about the topics discussed during the course will be posed and in which the exercises and the drawings produced during the course will be exhibited and evaluated.

Students who have completed and successfully passed the ongoing tests during the course and will attend the exam within the summer session, will be exempt from the written test. The absence/insufficient mark for more than two drawing exercises will not allow the access to the final exam. In these cases it will be mandatory to pass a complete graphic written test (one per session) to access the oral exam.

The final evaluation will be based on the oral test and on the drawings produced during the course (ex-tempore tests, CAD exercise and final graphic test, if not exempted).

Strumenti a supporto della didattica

At the end of each lesson, the material shown will be made available to students through the platform https://elearning-cds.unibo.it/

Students will be able to deepen the topics covered in class by consulting the bibliographic material indicated by the teacher.

Students will be provided of information that will be necessary to produce their graphical work.

As far as the CAD lessons/exercises are concerned, students will be allowed to use the software and the hardware available in the computer laboratories.
