Conoscenze e abilità da conseguire

This course analyzes the origins and main developments of EU institutions with a special focus on the last EU institutional cycles. By the end of the course, students should be able to: understand the evolution and the current institutional design of the EU; assess the role played by each institution in different decision-making methods and in different policies; compare the last institutional cycles; discuss main political developments and challenges in EU politics.

- Traditional lectures and seminar activities

- During each class, students' participation will be encouraged

Modalità di verifica e valutazione dell'apprendimento

For students taking part in the seminar activity:

- The course grade is based on:

1) class attendance (10% of the total grade)

2) participation to seminar activities (40% of the total grade)

3) a written exam which takes place during the official exam sessions of the A.Y. (50% of the total grade). For the summer sessions, the exam will be on-line using Esami Online and Zoom. The written exam consists of 1 long answer question that requires a response of about 40-60 lines (exam duration 1 hour).

 

For students not taking part in the seminar activity and students taking part in the seminar activity, who refuse the grade of the written exam:

- The course grade is based on a single written exam  

- For the summer sessions, the exam will be on-line using Esami Online and Zoom

- The exam consists of 2 long answer questions that require an answer each of about 40-60 lines (exam duration 2 hours)

- Each question allows for a maximum of 30 points. 

 

Exam results will be published on the instructor's webpage

- It will be possible to ask for clarification on the evaluation at the date indicated at the time of publication of the exam results

- In the absence of communication by the student by the established date, the votes published will be registered
