Winter variety, very attractive with a bright pink colour (over 70%). Very firm, crisp and juicy flesh, with a well-balanced sweet/acid taste. Excellent flavour. Vf-scab and rosy apple aphid resistant.

“Primiera x Cripps Pink” cross, carried out in 1999 at the Bologna University. Tested as selection: BO B47G082. Breeders: R. Gregori, S. Sansavini, S. Tartarini.

  • Tree: Very low vigour, semi-spur habitus, medium-high production. Chilling unit: about 1.250 hours. Resistant to scab (Venturia inaequalis) and rosy apple aphid (Dysaphis plantaginea), as confirmed by field trials and molecular analysis. Susceptible to powdery mildew. Flowering period: One week before Golden D.
  • Harvest date: 5-6 weeks after Golden D.
  • Ripening period: Early November.
  • Fruit: Medium-size (about 200 g), oblong-conical longitudinal shape. Uniform bright pink over-colour, extending over more than 70-80% surface in the low-land, almost russet-free. Fruit with smooth nonwaxy skin, and small, little, white lenticels. White flesh is very juicy, firm at harvest (9 kg/cm2 at harvest), and flavorsome, with a well-balanced slightly acidic taste. More than 14,5° Brix grade, and acid content of 6 g/l. This variety is almost ready to eat at harvest. Storability at normal cold room, controlled atmosphere and shelf-life are very good.
