Learning outcomes

The laboratory, through targeted exercises, aims to introduce the student to audiovisual production techniques within the context and with digital tools. At the end of the laboratory, the student knows how to develop a project idea, knows the different pre-production and organization phases, knows how to apply the main production techniques, and is able to carry out the editing and packaging of the finished audiovisual product.

Course contents

The videomaking workshop lasts for 30 hours and focuses on utilizing video devices for marketing and online promotion on social networks. Students will learn shooting and video editing techniques adaptable to various platforms and devices. Particular attention will be given to storytelling strategies and creating targeted content for the web. Students will acquire skills in promoting videos on social media and analyzing performance metrics. The workshop will revolve around practical activities, where students will develop one or more videomaking projects for marketing and social communication purposes.

Teaching methods

The teaching will be conducted in the presence of the instructor, in the equipped spaces of DAMSLab. Various group work, case study solutions, laboratory exercises, and field activities will alternate during the lectures.

The lectures will be delivered exclusively in-person.

Attendance is mandatory: students who have been absent for more than 6 hours throughout the course of the workshop will not be considered eligible.

For the academic year 2023/2024, a maximum of 40 students will be admitted to the workshop.

Assessment methods

During the course, students will have the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned by using the equipment and resources available in the laboratory. They will be encouraged to develop a final project, either individually or in groups, where they will present the concept and communicative objectives of their work. This project will be a fundamental part of the evaluation to obtain eligibility at the end of the training program. Through this hands-on experience, students will be able to demonstrate their skills and ability to apply the acquired knowledge, preparing them to successfully tackle the challenges of the professional world.

Teaching tools

The equipment available in DAMSLab's spaces includes video cameras and editing software, as well as projector and audiovisual contents.
