Learning outcomes

This seminar introduces students to the economic analysis of the family. Students will be able to understand and discuss the evolution of gender roles and the division of labor within the family.

- Home production and market production
- Family labor supply and the division of labor in the family
- Economic analysis of marriage, divorce, and fertility

Teaching methods

This course is a seminar and so lectures (in class and/or remotely, depending on public health updates for in Semester 2) feature discussion of material from the bibliography.

Assessment methods

Group projects consisting of a presentation of a research article related to the seminar topics.
