Laurea Magistrale (Second cycle degree/Two year Master - 120 ECTS) in International relations and diplomatic affairs

The objective of the Diplomatic and International Sciences second cycle degree programme is to produce graduates capable of analysing, interpreting and evaluating international political, economic and social issues.
To achieve this aim the programme includes course units to elaborate upon the study of political systems and of international historical, political and economic structures also in comparative terms.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ABILITY:
Graduates:
- will have broad and in-depth knowledge of political systems, and of international historical, political and economic structures also in comparative terms.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND TO UNDERSTAND:
Graduates:
- will have the ability to analyse, interpret and evaluate international political, economic and social issues adopting advanced research methods;

- will have the ability to use heterogeneous information sources, institutional or of other nature, and to understand and interpret the implicit messages of a given context.

JUDGEMENT SKILLS
Graduates:
- will have the ability to elaborate and/or apply original ideas, autonomously integrate knowledge and express judgements on the basis of limited or incomplete information in a research context and concerning issues related to new or unfamiliar themes which are part of broader (or interdisciplinary) contexts related to international politics;

- will have the ability to interpret political documents and normative deeds and understand the implications and consequences for the political-institutional set-up, formulating original contributions;

- will be able to produce analysis, also comparative, of national and international political-institutional, social and economic contexts suggesting original solutions to the problems studied.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Graduates:
- will have the ability to communicate, orally and in writing, in a clear and unambiguous way their conclusions and knowledge and underlying theories to specialist and non-specialist audiences;

- will have the ability to fluently use (at least level B2), in writing and orally, two foreign languages as well as Italian, one of which of the European Community, including the use of vocabulary related to the subject areas studied and taking into account the knowledge acquired in the first cycle;

- will know the theory and be able to apply negotiation and mediation skills also in the management of relations with the political and administrative levels of complex organisations, public and private, national and international.

LEARNING SKILLS:
Graduates:
- will have the ability to use analysis instruments and apply the learning methods developed to extend and update knowledge autonomously.
- will have the ability to identify the learning paths and instruments to extend and update general and specialised knowledge and professional competencies.
