Short Bio

Lorenzo Zambernardi is Professor of Political Science at the University of Bologna. He is the author of two books: Life, Death, and the Western Way of War (Oxford University Press 2022) and I limiti della potenza (Il Mulino 2010). His intellectual and research interests range from international relations theory, political realism, and counterinsurgency, through the history of political thought, to death studies. His previous work has been published in journals such as Citizenship Studies, the European Journal of International Relations, History of European Ideas, History of Political Thought, Information, Communication & Society, International Political Sociology, International Politics, International Relations, International Spectator, Mortality, Political Studies Review, Review of International Studies, Small Wars & Insurgencies, and the Washington Quarterly. Professor Zambernardi has been a Fulbright fellow at the Ohio State University and a visiting scholar at the University of Bremen.
