Course contents
The Winter School (or Joint Intensive Learning Unit) is an in-residence activity where all students are physically present in one city of the Consortium for two weeks to develop multicultural skills and competencies related to the design of new interventions.
One of the main goals of the Winter School is to train students in competences relevant to designing new methodologies and tools for professional intervention in new situations. To this end, the WOP-P Master has incorporated a recognized design methodology that considers different aspects, such as customer expectations, costs and benefits, political and contextual constraints, stakeholders, etc. Students have to deal with an open and complex problem where different solutions and intervention plans can be designed and implemented.
In addition, during the Winter School the students (in teams with an international composition) have to analyze the main demands and characteristics of the context in a given region of the world, identifying relevant contextual factors that need to be considered when designing and implementing professional interventions in the discipline.
To participate in this activity, WOP-P Master students are incorporated in multicultural teams, and they have to cooperate to achieve shared objectives. This is done not only through face-to-face interactions but also via electronic communication. This strategy facilitates a context that is similar to international and multicultural scenarios where the future WOP psychologists will work.
The next Winter School (or Joint Intensive Learning Unit) will be in International Center of Gandía, Spain, 2019. It supposes a cost of approximately 350€ in a double room with full board. Travel and transportation are not included.Readings/Bibliography
