Learning outcomes
Integrative posturology, energy balance and nutrition
The course intends to address to the alteration of the postural energy balance and biomechanical alignment of the body linked to the hypertonia and muscular retraction, with particular attention to the health and wellbeing sciences and to the body ecology for the professional figures operating in the odontostomatological sciences (Dental Hygienists and Dentists).
Course contents
Health posture and ergonomics of correct posture for dental practitioners
The aim of the course is to provide the anatomical-physiological and kinesiological-functional knowledge applied to the posturology regarding the importance of maintaining or achieving maximum musculo-articular plasticity and balancing of the internal spaces of the body in order to optimize the energetic balance and postural and muscular function in both static and dynamic conditions.
Through the practice of compensatory mobilization, yoga poses and finalized movements the course intends to make the student in conscious contact with his body (ability to feel tension and rigidity), providing proprioceptive awareness and the ability to act on the postural and emotional balance to prevent musculo-articular stiffness, muscular retraction, hypertonic pain and motor dysfunctions.
The course will also address to the stress prevention and management through respiratory re-education and restoration of physiological diaphragmatic functionality and by the practice in dynamics of diaphragmatic breathing integrated into mobilization movements.
Nutrition science, eubiotic action of the food, issues related to the metabolic, emotional, and environmental oxidative stress.
The course also includes practical internship activity for the study and application of integrative posturology and health sciences in the field of professional ergonomics.
