Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide students with the basic skills related to digital health and to the main solutions for improving health service and their cost-quality ratio and for reducing differences between territories. Knowledge of health standards and of the General Data Protection Regulation Compliance guidelinesare part of the course.The general concepts will be declined with practical examples such as electronic health record, CUP and telemedicine projects for biomedical data transfer.

Course contents

Definition of telehealth and communication standards.
The practical role of health informatics, and the skills needed for the healthcare professional in the virtual and real environment.
Classification and certification of medical devices.
Principles of cardiac electrophysiology and medical imaging.
Holter ECG Monitoring.
Epiluminescence microscopy.
Electronic Medical Record and Health Dossier.
Legislation: the EU GDPR for the treatment of health data
