Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student of individual and team sports knows: - the different types, the classifications and the basic characteristics - the modalities for defining the performance model - the training values in educational, recreational and sport contexts - the techniques, the technical regulations, the conventional graphic symbols, the equipment, the players' roles and the game patterns adopted by the teams (relative to sports start-up) It is also able to propose a simple didactic methodological path and a progression of start-up exercises to the sport.

Course contents

• Presentation of the organization of the course and the modules. Objectives and purpose of the course. Operational modalities of theoretical and practical lessons. Structure of the lessons. Study methods and evaluation objectives. From play to sport, social, educational and symbolic values. Definition of sport, elements that characterize sport, traditional sports and genre sports. Structure and functioning of the IOC and CONI.
• Classification and functional analysis of sports. Physiological, technical and social characteristics of sports. Motor skills. Characteristics and definition of the performance model. Analysis of the characteristics of a sport. Modern sports classifications. Sporting regulations and their transformations.
• Team sports and different characteristics. Definition and analysis of strategy and tactics. Role, development and teaching techniques. Study of the different models of team sports. Action theory. Traditional and modern team sports. How a sport transforms and changes.
• Individual sports, definition and characteristics. The conditional abilities. Definition and analysis of strength, resistance and speed. Role, development and analysis of power sports. Models and characteristics of individual sports. Traditional and modern individual sports. Sport and competitive spirit.
• Sports records, role and meaning. The evolution of the sport of record and of man. Sports doping. Pharmaceutical doping and technological doping. Technological development. Evolution of materials and the evolution of technology.
• The modules: theory and practice for Volleyball, Basketball, Gymnastics, Athletics.

Teaching methods

The course includes lectures in the classroom and laboratory exercises in the modules with tutorial.
The teaching material presented in class is made available to the student in electronic format via the Internet.

In the didactic laboratories, exercises of the various activities will be carried out.

In consideration of the types of activities and teaching methods adopted, the attendance of this training activity requires all students of Modules 1 and 2 to carry out e-learning [https://www.unibo.it/it/servizi-e -opportunities / health-and-assistance / health-and-safety / safety-and-health-in-places-of-study-and-training] and participation in Module 3 of specific training on safety and health in study places . Information on dates and methods of attendance of Module 3 can be consulted in the specific section of the degree program website.

Assessment methods

The evaluation of Module-1 will be with oral / written examination (in the form of a questionnaire with open questions). The final grade of the subject will be obtained from the average of the marks obtained in the 5 modules at the end of the entire teaching cycle.
