Teaching methods

The course participates at the didactic experimentation promoted by the University.

Classes will be supported by the analysis of case studies and group works, where the theoretical concepts addressed in class will be applied. Managers from private companies will be invited to their experience. Classes aim at maximum interactivity, also making use of web platforms and multimedia tools.

Assessment methods

The exam is written and focuses on all the topics covered by the program. The format is multiple choice questions. Written exam is compulsory and will take place in the exam sessions.

Students can decide to work in groups on a "business case" in groups, which will consider the discussion of two/three key concepts developed during the course. All the details relating to the business case will be made available during the first lessons of the course.

In addition to the main business case, other teamworks will be done throughout the course.
The final grade for those students doing the business case, will be given by 40% of the grade achieved in group work, and 60% by the grade of the written test. The grade assigned to the business case will take into account four main elements: the knowledge of the theoretical constructs; critical ability; originality; consistency. For students not doing the business case, the final grade will be given 100% by the written test.

The topics covered by the team work and the formation the groups will be defined together during the first classes. Exam dates and enrollment lists are managed by Almaesami system of the School of Engineering.

Teaching tools

Slides, cases and other useful material will be available on the web page Virtuale of the course.
