00732 - Electric Measures

Academic Year 2023/2024

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Orthopaedics Techniques (cod. 5915)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student possesses the basic knowledge of electrical and electronic measurements, in particular, he understands the operating principles of electrical and electronic circuits. He knows and uses the methods for the study of simple electric and electronic circuits, he performs elementary measurements on electric and electronic circuits and knows how to evaluate the results, he understands the relationship between real circuits and the mathematical representation of their behaviour, he knows the analysis of electric signals and the operating principle of measuring sensors and numerical analogue conversion. He knows the analysis of the automatic measuring and regulation bench for one or more physical quantities by analysing each individual electronic block.

Course contents

DC resistance measurement, industrial inductance measurement, industrial capacitance measurement, frequency measurement, active power measurement Aron insertion, reactive power measurement Righi insertion. Reactive power and power factor measurement in symmetrical and unbalanced three-phase systems; Barbagelata insertion. Zener diode characteristic measurement, zener diode stabilisation, Graetz bridge rectifier, waveform synthesiser.

Readings/Bibliography

Handouts provided by the teacher.

Teaching methods

A comprehensive overview of the main electrical and electronic measurements of significant educational value will be presented. Special attention will be paid to the electrical engineering theory necessary for the correct understanding of the course content. For greater involvement during the lecture and to promote learning of the new content, transparencies with images and application solutions will be projected and made available to the students.

Assessment methods

Written test with possible oral interview to improve the grade.
