17740 - Specialized Internship I (RN)

Academic Year 2023/2024

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences (cod. 8488)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the placement the student has to elaborate complex analyses and develop, also through multidisciplinary confrontation, autonomous reflections and assessments of a scientific, legal, ethical and deontological nature in support of the decisions necessary to deal with complex problems in the governance of care, organisational, educational and research processes connected with the exercise of the nursing and midwifery function.

Course contents

With reference to the profile of the Master's degree student, the work placement plan is negotiated on the basis of the student's specific needs. The student draws up the internship project proposal and submits it to the Head of Professional Training Activities. The latter assesses it and agrees any changes with the student or refers the student to a university tutor for completion. The agreed plan is set out on the "Internship activation form" and signed by the applicant student, the Head of Professional Teaching Activities and the company tutor for acceptance.

Please read the document 'Internship Guidelines'.

Readings/Bibliography

They are selected on the basis of the customised plan defined. The student prepares observation, interview, analysis tools, motivated and supported by theories and evidence learnt in the classroom, which characterise the subject matter of the placement and allow its in-depth observation and analysis. The choice of theoretical model and the definition of tools to guide observation in the field subtend processes of knowledge transfer and integration with context situations.

Teaching methods

Grading of the final grade

Failure to achieve agreed objectives; failure to meet planned attendance; lack of planning failure to apply learned theoretical models: insufficient

Achievement of agreed objectives; adherence to planned attendance; lack of planning achieved in the placement experience; sufficient clarity of presentation, poor ability to transfer and apply learned theoretical models; lack of reflection and reworking of the experience, insufficient logical organisation and delay in delivery; lack of systematicity, synthesis, quality of tools used for presentation, adherence to planned timeframe, lack of ability to argue→ 18-19

Achievement of the agreed objectives; compliance with planned attendance; discrete level of planning achieved in the practical traineeship experience; discrete quality of the final report, in terms of expository clarity in illustrating the agreed practical traineeship plan, the activities actually carried out, the results achieved with reference to the defined objectives; mechanical ability to transfer and apply the theoretical models learnt poor reflection and re-elaboration of the experience (potential for development and reflections on the meaning and effects of the experience), discrete logical organisation, punctuality in delivery; discrete presentation of the practical traineeship report (systematicity, synthesis, quality of the tools used for the presentation, adherence to the time schedule), poor ability to support the contradictory).→ 20-24

achievement of the agreed objectives; compliance with the planned attendance; excellent level of planning achieved in the practical traineeship experience; excellent quality of the final report, in terms of clarity of presentation in illustrating the agreed practical traineeship plan, the activities actually carried out, the results achieved with reference to the defined objectives; complete mastery in transferring and applying the theoretical models learnt excellent reflection and re-elaboration of the experience (potential for development and reflections on the meaning and impact of the experience), excellent logical organisation, punctuality in delivery; excellent presentation of the practical traineeship report (systematicity, synthesis, quality of the tools used for the presentation, adherence to the time schedule, high ability to support the contradictory) → 30-30L

The report stamped and signed by the traineeship/apprenticeship tutor must be handed in at least 10 days before the presentation date, accompanied by the completed attendance and evaluation forms.

The maximum length of the presentation is 10 minutes; slides or other tools deemed suitable may be used.

The work placement is carried out during the defined period; any extension must be agreed upon with the Head of Professional Training and the Company/Internship Tutor. The activities carried out must be consistent with the specific learning objectives negotiated and reported on the "Internship Activation Form".

Attendance is documented by filling in the attendance form in its entirety.

During the course of the placement, the student and the Company/Internship Tutor are required to report any critical issues.

The student carries out the formative self-assessment about halfway through the course, using the "Internship Evaluation Form"; the same form is filled in at the end by the tutor. The Form in fact represents a guide to support the student's self-assessment with respect to the expected learning objectives and a reference for the traineeship tutor to provide constant feed-back and express the final assessment.

At the end of each internship experience, the student is asked to give a satisfaction rating on the completed experience. https://corsi.unibo.it/magistrale/ScienzeInfermieristicheOstetriche/tirocini-curriculari

The report should illustrate the agreed placement plan, the activities actually carried out, the results achieved in relation to the defined objectives, the potential for development and reflections on the meaning and impact of the experience.

In examination sessions, the Commission assesses and certifies the learning achieved. The assessment is expressed in thirtieths on the basis of the following criteria achievement of the agreed objectives; compliance with the planned attendance; level of planning achieved in the practical traineeship experience; quality of the final report, in terms of clarity of presentation in illustrating the agreed practical traineeship plan, the activities actually carried out, the results achieved with reference to the defined objectives; ability to transfer and apply the theoretical models learnt; reflection and re-elaboration of the experience (development potential and reflections on the meaning and effects of the experience), logical organisation and punctuality in delivery; presentation of the practical traineeship report (systematicity, synthesis, quality of the tools used for the presentation, adherence to the time schedule, ability to support the contradictory).
