Learning outcomes

● To know the definition and fundamental principles of palliative care (quality of life, early palliative care and end-of-life care) ● To know the different professional figures involved in palliative care ● To know the complex needs of palliative care of the patient with oncological and non-oncological pathology ● To recognize the relational and communicative needs of the patient and the family ● To recognize and treat the pain, symptoms and conditions most frequent in the patient with incurable disease ● To recognize the bioethical implications linked to the field of palliative care ● To know the modalities of communicative applications with patients and families. ● To know how to listen as a basic principle of palliative care.

Students who for reasons dependent on disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD) require compensatory tools are invited to communicate their needs as soon as possible to the teacher in order to agree on the adoption of the most appropriate measures.

Assessment methods

The student will have an oral examination with each professor of the course

The purpose of the oral exam is to verify the student's ability to apply his or her knowledge and to make the necessary logical-deductive connections.

Gradation of the final grade:

Preparation on a very limited number of topics covered in the course and analytical skills that emerge only with the help of the teacher, expressed in an overall correct language → 18-19;

Preparation on a limited number of topics covered in the course and ability to autonomous analysis only on purely executive matters, expression in correct language → 20-24;

Preparation on a large number of topics covered in the course, ability to make independent choices of critical analysis, mastery of specific terminology → 25-29;

Basically exhaustive preparation on the topics covered in the course, ability to make autonomous choices of critical analysis and connection, full mastery of specific terminology and ability to argue and self-reflection → 30-30L.
