97027 - Extracellular Vesicles and Nanomedicine

Academic Year 2023/2024

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Medical Biotechnology (cod. 9081)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students will be i) acquainted with the basic techniques of extracellular vesicles isolation, purification and characterization; ii) instructed about the recommended international guidelines for extracellular vesicles isolation, purification and characterization; iii) made able to understand the suitability of different methods of extracellular vesicle isolation and purification in different biological fluids and from different biologic sources; iv) be upgraded about methods to assess the genomic and protein profiling of extracellular vesicles. Students will also learn biologic assays regarding extracellular vesicle bio-activity and basic methods and instruments for in vitro and in vivo imaging studies on extracellular vesicles.

Assessment methods

Student learning will be checked at the end of the course with an [oral/written exam, qui ognuno specifica la propria modalità].

The final mark will be calculated as the weighted mean (based on CFUs) of the marks obtained in all the courses of FRONTIERS IN MEDICAL RESEARCH (I.C.).

A mark above or equal to 18/30 in each module of the Integrated Course is required to obtain the final assessment.
