Learning outcomes
At the end of the module the student knows the bases of the medical-surgical emergency, particularly referring to first aid.
Course contents
First Aid Principles (BLS)
. A (Airway - Airway management)
. Foreign bodies in the airways
. How to insert an oropharyngeal cannula
. B (Breathing - breath assessment)
. C (Circulation - evaluation of the circle)
. Neurological objective examination: early recognition of stroke
and team thrombolysis
. Principles of intervention in case of ingestion of toxic
substances; electric shock; fractures; bites; heat stroke; burns.
. Wounds, disinfectants, detergents, bandages.
. Management of the patient with hypoglycemia
. Patient management with epileptic seizures
Readings/Bibliography
The teaching material will be provided by the teacher mostly as electronic files, trying to minimize the use of paper materials.
