Learning outcomes
At the end of the module the student will be able to recognize characteristics and parameters of the voice and the characteristics of the vocal tract, both from an anatomical and functional point of view.
Course contents
Concept of euphony and dysphonia
Physiology of vocal registers: mechanism 0, 1, 2,3
The physiology of the vocal tract
Lift and penetrance
Posture and voice
The management of cost-diaphragmatic breathing
The vowel formants and the song formant
The classification of dysphonias
Congenital dysphonias: cri du chat, laryngomalacia, congenital glottic diaphragm, laryngeal papillomatosis of childhood, sulcus and vergeture, epidermoid cysts
Acquired dysphonia. Organic: edema, laryngeal inflammation, nodules, polyps, retention cysts, laryngocele, submucosal hemorrhages, laryngeal paralysis, oncological pathology
Acquired dysphonia. Functional: Vocal change disorders, psychogenic dysphonias, dysodynias, chronic infantile dysphonias, hyperkinetic and hypokinetic dysphonias
Instrumental semiotics for the evaluation of voice disorders: fiberoptic laryngoscopy, laryngeal stroboscopy, spectrography and sonography, electroacoustic voice analyzers: vocalography, MDVP, Lingwaves, manual and automatic phonetography
