Teaching methods

The teaching methods used to support the learning process and achieve the educational objectives of the teaching are lectures and presentation and discussion of clinical cases.

The "problem solving" methodology is also used, identifying a specific clinical problem in the context of the diseases of the digestive system discussed during the course and identifying its solutions.

Assessment methods

The verification and evaluation of the student's learning are carried out with an oral exam, which does not require papers to be delivered before the exam date and which involves a final grade.

The purpose of the exam is to evaluate the student's ability to apply their knowledge in diseases of the digestive system and to make the necessary logical-deductive connections.
During the exam, the student's knowledge of the epidemiology, etiology, physiopathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnosis and therapy of the diseases of the digestive system addressed in the course will be verified.

The vote will be graduated according to the following criteria:
a) preparation on a very limited number of topics covered in the course, ability to analyze only with the help of the teacher, expression with overall correct language: 18-19.

b) preparation on a limited number of topics, autonomous analysis ability only on purely executive issues, expression with correct language: 20-24.

c) preparation on a large number of topics, ability to make autonomous choices of critical analysis, mastery of specific terminology: 25-29.

d) exhaustive preparation on the topics covered in the course, ability to make independent choices of critical analysis and connections, full mastery of the specific terminology and ability to argue and self-reflect: 30-30L.

Teaching tools

The tools that are used to support teaching aim to stimulate interaction and socialization among students and improve their learning experience.
These essentially consist of audiovisual aids concerning the clinical manifestation, the diagnostic techniques and the treatment of diseases of the digestive system addressed in the course.
