Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student: - knows the principles of plastic surgery and how they are applied in different settings. In particular will know the methods used in breast reconstruction, in the reconstruction of head and neck and in other anatomical areas.

Course contents

PLASTIC SURGERY TEACHING PROGRAM:

Basic principles and techniques in reconstructive plastic surgery -Sutures, grafts, flaps.

Skin cancer and melanoma: surgical excision and reconstruction.

Post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.

Microsurgical flaps

Burns: basis, diagnosis and treatment

Basic principles on: head and neck and upper limb Malformations; Trauma of the face and limbs, face, breast, limbs; other multidisciplinary applications of  Plastic Surgery

Teaching methods

The course will consist of 8 hours of lectures, held in the Chiantore classroom (canale A).
Specific iconography will be projected to support the theoretical foundations.

Assessment methods

The final exam aims to evaluate the achievement of the teaching objectives reported in the program and it oral. 

The final grades are an average of the marks obtained in the three different disciplines of which the integrated course consists

Teaching tools

Frontal lessons, Projection of slides, attendance through practical training (when possible), suggested book texts.

Any further information may be processed outside the lessons timetable with those who explicitly request it.
