Knowledge and skills to be achieved

At the end of the module the student applies the knowledge acquired relating to technical, relational and educational skills. Develop methodological skills related to care planning. The activity develops in correlation to the internship path and to the contents.

Course contents

PERSONAL CARE – Functional model of activity and physical exercise

 

Busy bed making

Hygiene and dressing of the patient

Patient mobilization

CARDIO, CIRCULATORY AND RESPIRATORY FUNCTION – Functional model of activity and physical exercise

 

Detection of vital parameters

Performing the electrocardiogram

O2 therapy management

Aerosol therapy management

DIET, NUTRITION AND SKIN INTEGRITY – Nutritional and metabolic model

 

Nasogastric tube insertion and management

Management of enteral nutrition

Surgical wound dressing

URINARY AND INTESTINAL ELIMINATION – Model of elimination

 

Insertion and management of indwelling bladder catheter and intermittent bladder catheter.

Urine sample collection.

Administration of the evacuative enema

THERAPY MANAGEMENT AND PERIPHERAL VENOUS ACCESSES – Health perception and management model

 

Management of parenteral therapy: intramuscular, subcutaneous and intradermal.

Carrying out capillary blood glucose and administering insulin therapy.

Venous access management: CVP, venipuncture, blood culture and intravenous therapy.

Teaching methods

Interactive lessons in small groups through simulations and exercises using mannequins and/or actors and medical aids.

Division of students into groups and subgroups.

 

Provision of workstations specially equipped to reconstruct specific care contexts, managed by a teaching tutor assisted by a clinical tutor or by a 3rd year student of the Degree Course.

 

Each student must participate in all scheduled care situations

 

Attendance is compulsory (100%) and is documented with signature detection.

 

In the event of any absences, each student must agree with the head of the professional laboratory 1 on the methods and times for the necessary recovery.
