Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student will know the main tests of the microbiological diagnosis.

Course contents

Biological matrices

Identification of microorganisms by microscopic and culture methods

Determination of antibiotic resistance

Molecular methods (end-point PCR, singleplex and multiplex real-time PCR)

Viral genome sequencing

Detection of viral antigens by immunochromatographic tests

Cell culture

Serological assays

Immunological assays

Practical activity in small groups to be carried out in the laboratory.
