Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student has the ability to apply knowledge and understanding regarding: pathologies of the musculoskeletal system susceptible to physio-kinesitherapy treatment, identification of the subject's preventive and rehabilitative needs through the evaluation of clinical data and individual characteristics, methods appropriate therapies in the orthopedic field, design, planning and execution of the physiotherapy intervention.

Course contents

CLINICAL REASONING: definition the phases that make up the clinical reasoning: anamnestic collection with the related clinical diagnosis carried out by the doctor, functional evaluation, identification of therapeutic objectives, rehabilitation intervention planning (project, physiotherapy programme), re-evaluation.Shoulder: PRINCIPLES OF FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT IN ORTHOPEDIC PHYSIOTHERAPY: For each district taken into consideration the following will be covered: Assessment of impairment carried out through observation, inspection, palpation, pain assessment through interview and administration of scales, evaluation of edema via perimetry and foveal sign, evaluation of thermotouch through palpation of the affected area and comparison with the contralateral district, evaluation of joint excursion, evaluation of muscle strength, sensitivity assessment (if necessary), specific tests useful for making differential functional diagnoses, specific rating scales. The evaluation of activities and their limitations; assessment of disability through observation and application of appropriate scales The evaluation of participation in social life and its restrictions The evaluation of contextual factors: environment and people (potential facilitators or barriers to achieving autonomy) Identification of therapeutic objectives - Physiotherapy strategies indicated for achieving objectives Physiotherapy treatment in the main pathologies of physiotherapeutic interest (fracture, trauma, pathologies of other origins).
