Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide students with the fundamentals notions of the Italian civil law and its sources, with special regard to the meaning and function of the legal system and its norms, natural and legal persons, goods, property ad possession, obligations and contracts, also in the marketing sector.

Course contents

Course contents concern the following subjects: 1) fundamental notions and concepts of private law; 2) the sources of law (national law; EU Law); 3) natural and legal persons (including business association and cooperatives, no-profit organizations) and fundamental rights (including data protection law); 4) goods, property and possess; 5) obligations and contracts; 6) civil liability and torts; 7) debtor's liability, patrimonial consequences, guarantees; 8) assignment of claims, substitution of new debtor and transfer of contract; 9) prescription, extinguishing rights and limitation of actions.

Different activities can be organized only for those students who effectively attend the course.

Teaching methods

Traditional lectures. Analysis and guided debates on controversial cases. Training exercises, simulations, seminars.

Assessment methods

The final exam consists of an oral tests (three or four questions on the course contents).
