Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student knows the Functional Models of Health and the nursing methodology to progressively respond to the different degrees of care complexity that the person / family / community present.

Course contents

Application of the nursing care process in relation to:
- activity and exercise model;
- sleep and rest model.
Generalities and factors influencing the model; characteristics and alterations that may occur; useful data for the nursing assessment; NANDA-I taxonomy nursing diagnoses, outcomes (NOC) and interventions (NIC) related to diagnoses.
Body temperature (characteristics, concepts of homeostasis, instruments for measuring temperature, blood cultures, nursing care for the patient with fever)
Communication in healthcare:
- purposes and elements of the communication
- factors affecting communication
- strategies that favor communication
- useful data for the assessment
- the nurse-patient relationship (peculiarities, hints of legislation, verbal and non-verbal communication, help relationship, active listening, communication strategies, non-therapeutic responses)
- the nurse's relationship with the other members of the care team
- management of clinical information: purposes and methods of registration
- informed consent (hints)
- nursing responsibilities regarding assessment, discharge and transfer (hints)
