75839 - Seminar (1) (G-D)

Academic Year 2022/2023

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Humanities (cod. 8850)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the seminar (activity strictly related to the objectives of the degree course) the student acquires specific skills and notions to deal with linguistic and / or philological and / or literary and / or historical and / or artistic themes and problems.

Course contents

The seminar intends to introduce students to some of the most important authors in the current literary panorama, both in terms of prose and poetry; the program also includes advertisements on the most advanced 'metamorphoses' of our literary tradition in the new forms of fiction.

The seminar, which includes 15 lessons (12 interviews with authors and 3 'internal' lessons concerning the books read) takes place in synergy with the workshop of creative writing held by Professor Nicola Bonazzi for the Master's Degree in Italian Studies, European Literary Culture and Linguistic Sciences (5 interviews in common) and with the international events of "pensiero ospitale" MENS-A, a event conceived by professor Beatrice Balsamo of the APUN association (the program is visible here: https: //www.mens -a.it/?p=1095). Participation to the MENS-A meetings, which take place between September and October in various cities in the Emilia-Romagna, is highly recommended. The seminar provides for compulsory attendance at least 12 out of 15 lessons (the certificate of participation in one or more of MENS-A events is valid for the purpose of counting the minimum attendance). The maximum number of participants is 30; to register, you must therefore send an email to andrea.severi@unibo.it as soon as possible, indicating at least 3 books among those scheduled that you would like to "adopt" (at least on one of these three books each participant will be asked to report in class before the meeting with the author). At the end of the seminar (Monday 19 December), attended by student for at least 80% of the lessons, the activity is intended to be completed by sending the teacher a review of 6000 characters on the book in the program that they liked the most and a review of equal length on the respective presentation with the author.

The program, having been organized in synergy with the Workshop of Creative Writing for the LM14 Master's Degree held by prof. Nicola Bonazzi, foresees five "shared class" meetings, two of which outside the scheduled times (in bold):

The dates of the 15 lessons, which will take place in room II (via Zamboni 32, top floor) will be as follows:

NOVEMBER: Thursday 10 (5-7 pm); Friday 11 (1-3 pm); Monday 14 (1-3 pm): Thursday 17 (5-7 pm); Friday 18 (1-3 pm); Monday 21 (1-3 pm); Friday 25 (5-7 pm); Monday 28 (1-3 pm);

DECEMBER: Thursday 1 (1-3 pm); Friday 2 (5 -7pm); Monday 5 (1-3 pm); Monday 12 (1 -3 pm): Thursday 15 (5-7 pm); Friday 16 (1-3); Monday 19 (1-3 pm).
